Ray Pickup

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mr. Pickup currently serves as a director and chief executive officer of WCF Insurance. He joined WCF in 1993 as CFO, became COO in 2006, and president and CEO in 2008. Prior to WCF, Mr. Pickup was vice president of finance at First Health Strategies and a senior audit manager for Ernst & Young. He's active in the community and serves on several boards, including the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Economic Development Corporation of Utah Board of Trustees as the Audit Committee chair, the Junior Achievement of Utah Advisory Board, and the University of Utah Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute Advisory Board. He is also a member of the U.S. Department of Transportation Air Ambulance and Patient Advisory Committee as representative of the workers’ compensation insurance industry. Mr. Pickup holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and is a certified public accountant.

Matt Lyon

PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Matt joined WCF Insurance in 2017. He is in charge of all operations functions within the company. Before WCF, he worked as head of commercial insurance product management at Farmers Insurance Group of Companies in Los Angeles. Matt has broad experience in the insurance industry, successfully serving in product management, operations, and strategy roles at Nationwide Insurance and The Hartford Insurance Group, among others. Matt received his BS in economics from the University of Utah and his MBA from DePaul University.

Kathryn Clark

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF RISK OFFICER

Kathryn joined the WCF Insurance Safety and Health team in 1997. Prior to WCF, she worked as an industrial hygienist for Kennecott Utah Copper and as environmental health and safety manager for Megahertz U.S. Robotics. Kathryn is a certified industrial hygienist, a certified safety professional, and holds an associate in risk management for enterprise-wide risk management (ARM-E). She received concurrent bachelor’s degrees in biology and public health/industrial hygiene from Utah State University.
 

Rachel Jepperson

VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Rachel joined WCF Insurance in 2003 and is responsible for communications and advertising. She began her career at WCF Insurance as an intern. From 2012-2014 she was a contributing business writer for KSL. She received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah.
 

Glen Kuball

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, UNDERWRITING

Glen joined WCF Insurance in 2007. He served as president and CEO of Advantage Workers Compensation Insurance Company for five years beginning in 2012. Prior to joining WCF, Glen was with Zenith Insurance Company for over 25 years. Glen received his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge.

Dennis Lloyd

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL

Dennis joined WCF Insurance in 1981 and is responsible for adjudication, subrogation, insurance regulation, and government relations. Prior to WCF, he worked for the Utah Legislative Auditor General. Dennis holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a JD and MBA from the University of Utah.

Kris McFarland

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Kris joined WCF Insurance in 2011 and has over 30 years of experience in human resources. He has worked in the education, construction, insurance, and high tech sectors. Kris earned his Senior Professional in Human Resources certificate and has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Brigham Young University.

Debi Mofford

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Debi has spent 25 years at WCF Insurance supporting the technology systems and has over 30 years in the IT industry. She started as a software developer and was a member of the development team for the WCF systems. Prior to WCF, Debi worked as a developer with Hercules Aerospace. Debi received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Utah State University.

Kevin Peterson

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SALES AND DISTRIBUTION

Kevin joined WCF Insurance in 2018. He came to WCF from Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa. During his 21 years in the insurance industry, he has held leadership roles in Claims, Underwriting, and Sales. Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Iowa. He also earned the Associate in Claims and Certified Property Casualty Underwriting designations.
 

Charles Pugh

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CLAIMS

Charles joined WCF Insurance in 1996 in the Safety and Health department as a certified industrial hygienist. He transitioned into Claims in 2011 and is responsible for claims adjusting, claims operations, special investigation activities, medical case management, and vocational counseling. Charles has a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Utah.

Scott Westra

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Scott joined WCF Insurance in 1992. He oversees the financial analysis, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, actuarial analysis, investments, data analytics, and project management functions for the company. Before his time at WCF, he worked for Ernst & Young from 1987-1992. Scott has a degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a certified public accountant.
