Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Information below applies to Utah claims .
Although Utah is not a state that requires it, WCF Insurance employs vocational rehabilitation counselors who can assist injured workers in returning to work and offer education and support to employers.
- Vocational rehabilitation services are offered to injured workers who are unable to return to their previous employment. These services may include vocational testing, job analysis, labor market surveys, and job development and coordination with Utah State Office of Rehabilitation for retraining programs.
- The counselors may attend some physician appointments with the injured worker to discuss return to work options and obtain authorization from the physician for the employee to return to their job or modified duty.
- A training program is offered to employers throughout the state to assist them in setting up their return to work programs at the worksite. A formal return to work program provides an organized plan for the employer to follow when returning injured workers back to transitional or modified duty.
- Not all WCF Insurance injured workers are assigned a vocational counselor. Physicians may request the services of a counselor to assist with return to work issues by calling one of the contact numbers listed below.
