Workers’ compensation is an insurance system that provides benefits to employees who are injured on the job or who develop a work-related illness. Each state maintains its own laws that control the type and amounts of benefits an injured employee may receive if a claim is compensable under the state laws.
Generally, workers’ compensation benefits pay for medical treatment that is related to the injury or illness and a portion of the income the injured employee lost due to being unable to work because of the injury or illness.  The injured employee may also receive a benefit to compensate for a permanent impairment or disability resulting from the injury or illness and assistance with returning to work.
We encourage you to contact your claim adjuster for more information about your claim and for help getting back to work.  The following links provide information about the workers’ compensation benefits available in your state.
