Job Task Analysis

Seri's version of a Job Task Analysis is unique in that it addresses the needs of the employer, the priorities of the organization and the employee's perspective to give a comprehensive answer to the age old question:

How to best structure operations so as to increase productivity and employee satisfaction concurrently? This process allows us to:

  1. Help define where people are spending their time, and review that against the goals of the organization/position.

  2. Identify tasks that take more time than they should (and a process modification could increase efficiency, thereby achieving more while containing costs).

  3. Help employees identify the parts of their job they love and the parts they don't - and quantify the effort they need to spend on each type of task (helpful to make people see they are in the wrong job, and help them identify what job they would enjoy, thereby eliminating problem employees).

Seri's Job Task Analysis helps figure out:

In a task analysis, we start with a list of tasks developed by the employees currently performing the work, or by the business owner who wants certain tasks performed. We then quantify the effort needed to perform each task, and if this is a position that is currently being handled by an employee, we conclude by adjusting these numbers to reflect the number of hours they work (or slightly more, since some tasks inevitably do not get done).

This process is very difficult because it is very difficult to quantitate tasks that are performed concurrently, as most of our normal tasks are. Also, it is difficult to compare tasks that are performed weekly to those performed annually. Seri's patience and familiarity with this process facilitates articulation of the effort required, task by task. She makes the entire process enjoyable with her patience and personality.
