AERO, Auxiliary Emergency Radio Organization

has been organized to provide support to the public in becoming effective emergency communicators by providing training, licensing, drill and practice, and appropriate equipment. It does this by acting directly and by supporting allied organizations with like goals.

We support the efforts of NERT to offer Ham Communications Training (HCT). If you hold an amateur Technician license, you are welcome to attend this first radio class. We will update this page with the info on the next HCT when we receive the information. Meanwhile, you can read FM101x (the book) by getting a copy thru AERO. AERO has a vision for how we can give San Francisco disaster recovery with adequate emergency communications.
